Calimesa borders Yucaipa to the south, across the county line in Riverside County. Animal Kingdom’s Yucaipa shop on Yucaipa Boulevard is minutes away; call 909-954-1820.
It sits on I-10 between Yucaipa and Beaumont, at a higher elevation than the valley floor, with open hills, horse properties and big lots around town.
Big lots and open ground mean dogs who roam, roll and dig. Coats collect dust, burrs and foxtails, and nails wear unevenly. A regular bath, brush and nail trim keeps up with it.

Is there a dog groomer near Calimesa?
Animal Kingdom’s Yucaipa shop is a few minutes north on Yucaipa Boulevard. Call 909-954-1820 to book.
My dog lives outside a lot. How often should it be bathed?
Every four to eight weeks for most outdoor dogs, plus nail trims every three to six weeks. Brush between baths to pull out burrs and loose undercoat.
Does flea shampoo prevent fleas?
No. It removes fleas on the dog that day. Ask your vet about ongoing prevention, and treat bedding and the yard.
Bleeding nail, a hot spot, limping, a cut, or a dog that seems unwell? Call your veterinarian. Heavy panting, collapse or vomiting on a hot day can be heatstroke: move your dog to shade, wet it with cool (not ice-cold) water and get to a vet right away.
